I too am a "J.D." that took the MSF course and dropped my bike this year. My feelings were the same as you listed above, pretty much.
Check out my website to see what I did after my spill...(I beat my peg straight again, among other things). It sounds like my bike needed a bit more work than yours will.
It sucks going down, but hey, these things only have 2 wheels! It is amazing how fast you find your head bouncing off the pavement. I felt so "mortal" that day. I feel wiser now, but know at anytime the "slipperies" might come out again!
